ABOUT -

Firesign Design is the work of Portland-based designer Kris Travis. With a BFA in Multimedia Design and over a decade of design experience, I've got big dreams in digital, print, branding, and display design. When I'm not staring at a screen, you'll find me refueling my creativity exploring the PNW with my family, sipping a hoppy microbrew, or making a mess in the kitchen.

About Me

Do good work. It seems simple enough. But given the dramatic changes in the way people access and consume information over the past few decades, it’s more challenging–and more important than ever–to find a way to cut through the clutter. I work thoughtfully with my clients to tap into their brand’s true personality, in order to design materials that speak to their goals, as well as their target audience.

Efficiency, reliability, and flexibility are very important to me, and I seek to embody these qualities as a designer every day. But ultimately, a project is not successful if it doesn’t look good. I want to take the message you’re trying to communicate, and help you make it effective, authentic, and beautiful.

With over a decade of art direction, graphic design, and project management experience in both digital and print media, I am a motivated visual communicator with excellent attention to detail and a passion for learning. My background includes working with a variety of clients and teams on print, digital, branding, and display design projects. I look forward to working with you!

Kind words from clients and colleagues:

“Working with Kris is a very positive experience for me, and Xenium overall. Kris is personable, responsive and extremely creative. Kris is a dream come true for a marketing leader like me who is more analytical than creative. I give her basic ideas, outlines or sketches of a design we need and she fully brings the vision to life—better than I could have ever imagined. In the three years I have worked with Kris, I have relied on her for projects such as icon designs, sales proposals, marketing flyers and a new responsive website design. I look forward to continuing the partnership with Kris and I recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled and professional freelance designer.”
—Brandon Laws, Director of Marketing, Xenium HR
